as soon as Iran will get nuclear weapons the US will be forced to support Israel in order to keep the large and powerful Jewish/American community happy
probably the easiest solution would be the overthrow of the Iranian government

The withdrawal from Change began after the election in Iran. Why? Rep. or pro-Israel lobby pressures? Again, the site should much more deal with the election and its authenticity.

All we got in Obama is a more clever and deceptive pro-Zionist, anti-Iran approach. I'm ashamed to say I fell for it; I voted for him.

This is a very interesting analysis (as is the one in the NYT Op Ed). I am particularly drawn to the concluding parts of the NYT piece, where you say:

"What is really hard is that getting America’s Iran policy “right” would require a president to take positions that some allies and domestic constituencies won’t like."

Unless he is prepared to discard all re-election considerations in pursuit of the greater good (an act which could see him achieve genuine greatness), it seems to me his only chance is to engineer a situation where he can utilise Israeli belligerence to create the political space to open a genuine dialogue with Iran. That appeared to be what he was doing following Netanyahu very publically telling him to go to hell over settlements in September.

Since then, it seems Netanyahu has spotted his tactical error, but I understand there to be a deep distrust of Israel within elements of the US government and while that exists, there may remain at least a chance Obama can turn their way rather than the way of Clinton/Ross.
