Stephen Cohen, appearing on Charlie Rose yesterday, talked about the centrality of the Israeli nuclear program to resolving the conflicts in the Middle East. He intimated that it could be the most important leverage that Obama possesses in terms of getting Israel to budge. And, unless the Israeli nuke program is dealt with, Obama's positions vis-a-vis the Iranian program are simply untenable.

It would be interesting to know more about how Cohen thinks the Israeli program might be dealt with and what it might lead to in terms of unfreezing negotiating positions throughout the region.
