The Race for Iran

Leverett on al Jazeera: Thin U.S. Charges of Terror Plot Escalate Tension with Iran

Hillary Mann Leverett appeared on al Jazeera, please see video link above, shortly after news broke that the Obama Administration has accused Iran of trying to arrange the assassination of Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Adel al Jubeir.  According to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and the formal criminal complaint released today, the planners envisioned killing Ambassador Jubeir in a crowded Washington, DC restaurant, where, the Administration charges, tens if not hundreds of other people could also have died.  The central figures in the alleged plot are an Iranian-American dual national living in Corpus Christi, Texas and his cousin, allegedly a Revolutionary Guard general working in the Quds Force.  The Iranian government has denied the charges and denounced them as a fabrication.

    fyi,

The Second World War brought great suffering to the people of Iran, as a side-effect. Many Iranians had applauded the German invasion of the Soviet Union, in large part out of an inability to see ahead and comprehend the damage the war would bring to Iran itself.

  2. James Canning says:

    fyi,

Your apparent eagerness to see nuclear weapons in the hands of many countries, providing opportunities for terrorists to obtain them and perhaps use them against Iranian targets, is remarkable.

Iran’s effort to achieve a Middle East free of nukes is morally correct, and eminently sensible.

  3. Elahe says:

    {This plot is almost certainly not the work of Iranian Intelligence, CIA, or MOSSAD,}

YOU MUST N BE ADUMB OR A ZIONIST TO MAKE SUCH A STUPID STATEMENT. DON’T YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF MOSSAD AND CIA.

  4. fyi says:

    All:

This plot is almost certainly not the work of Iranian Intelligence, CIA, or MOSSAD,

They are too capable to blunder like this.

The most likely culprit are desparate politicians; either in Iran or in US.

But this too will blow over.

However, the ramifications of cooking incidents and drumming up support for coercion (diplomatic or military) are not lost on the Iranian leaders or any other foreign leaders.

A nuclear-armed state will be immune to this sort of provocation.

These types of provocations only hasten the day that any country with a population larger than 12 million sould will have a few nuclear weapons.

This is reminiscent to what CIA did to Iran back in 1953 and in 2009 election.

Really makes you wonder what the foreign intelligence agencies of our allies are thinking of us. They’re all scrutinizing this, as well, and are quite possibly coming up with a similar if not same conclusion to Juan’s.

At first I considered this matter for having a Zimmermman Telegram (1917) like effect.

Now I think the nature is more in line with the Gleiwitz incident (1939).

First “yellowcake” and now this. And to think I so enthusiastically voted for Obama in ’08. It’s a big disappointment. It looks like Professor Cole, also a big time Obama supporter in ’08, is similarly disappointed.

The Guardian newspaper is cautious of the claims surrounding the alleged plot

Initially not so, they were just as gung ho as the MSM in the USA. Now that majority are showing doubts they have changed their tune.

  9. OK, we know this plot is a hoax. The real questions: how much is Mossad behind it? How much CIA help did they get? How high up in the Obama administration does this go?

The ONLY “evidence” of Iranian involvement is the alleged $100.000 transferred from an Iranian bank via Asian banks to the FBI undercover account. How hard would it be for the US and Mossad to fake such a transfer? If some Eastern European hacker geeks can take over a bank account and drain it – it’s done every day – how hard would it be for Mossad and the CIA to take over a business bank account in Tehran and drain it for this operation? I say: no problem at all.

This was not done by some nameless “third party”. It was done by the US and Israel working together. Therefore it was done with Obama’s knowledge, just as it is alleged that Khamenei had to have knowledge of the plot. If nothing “rogue” is done in Iran, then nothing “rogue” is done in Washington. Q.E.D. Someone in Washington knew about 9/11 in advance, and the same applies here.

Therefore this is a deliberate attempt to ratchet up a casus belli for war with Iran.

And they’ll do it again. If at first you don’t succeed… How many more of these fake plots will it take to get a war started?

Dan: I remember seeing a documentary by a group of Irish documentary makers who just happened to be in Venezuela at the time of the putsch or attempted coup. Much of the footage used by Pilger is borrowed from them. If you liked Pilger’s treatment, you will love the full-blown version. And I agree with you: parallels to Neda and all the other nasty shit these evil people get up to is unmistakeable. Here’s a link to it on Google Video:

  11. Unknown Unknowns says:

I was fortunate enough to see this speech in person a few years back and now I am happy to see that it has been uploaded onto the net. For those who don’t know, Ward Churchill got into a lot of trouble for writing on the night of 9/11/01 an article which was published the next day, stating that his first reaction to the event was that it was a case of “chickens coming home to roost”. He was later stripped of his tenured position as a university professor in a witch-hunt action.

The whole speech is well worth your time, but if you must skip the preamble, the avalanche he delivers starts at around minute 26, where he talks about the arrival of karmic “chickens” coming back home – a tour de force indictment of US actions that have made Uncle Weasel so popular throughout the world.

Kathleen, on Mondo, you asked if Stuart Levey is still stealing from other countries in the name of the American people, and instead of doing what a Treasury Department is supposed to be doing, ie husbanding the resources of the American people.

No, Levey is no longer in the post, he turned it over to his former law partner, Daniel Cohen.

Interesting sidebar: At the confirmation hearing for Cohen, Sen. Ben Cardin invited Daniel to introduce his family; he introduced his father, Dr. Cohen, whom Cardin greeted as his “primary consultant on the health care legislation.” Jordan Cohen is past president of Association of American Medical Colleges, AAMC, which governs how and how many candidates are admitted to American colleges to study medicine.

  21. James Canning says:

    PB,

Hill & Knowlton (PR firm) was paid $10 million by Kuwaiti gov’t to help set up US participation in war to expel Iraqis. Clever story, but of course false.

One wonders whether any PR or lobbying firms are involved in the “plot to kill the Saudi ambassador” scam (assuming it is a scam).

  23. James Canning says:

    Fiorangela,

I think Trita Parsi is too quick to assume that the fact Eric Holder was in front of the TV cameras must mean the case was strong. American elections are just around the corner, and Obama administration needs all the money from rich Jews it can rake in.

  24. James Canning says:

    Fiorangela,

Yes, Palestine was not vacant land, available for the taking.

To me is is remarkable that the Israelis, offered clear title to the 78% of Palestine they took before 1967, see that as insufficient. Wand why? Because, in part, they know that the numerous stooges of the Israel lobby in the US Congress will do almost anything to enable Israel to take even more! Lunacy.

  25. Fiorangela says:

once again, Parsi clouds my rose colored glasses view of Iran

    http://www.niacouncil.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=7642&security=1&news_iv_ctrl=-1

Parsi wrote a Foxian fair-and-balanced piece on the Iran “plot,” arguing that BOTH Washington hawks AND Tehran leaders are eager for war, and that in this kind of atmosphere, both sides are likely to allow stubborness/eagerness to flare an incident into a war. (Inasmuch as Iran is denying involvement, it’s hard to see how Parsi supports the position that Tehran is eager for war.)

Perhaps some of those on this forum who are close to Iranian leadership thinking can validate the view that there’s an influential cohort of Iranians who are eager for war. When I travelled in Iran, the first Iranian I spoke with was a 12 year old boy in Laleh Park. When he determined that we were American, he said, “Bush good,” and indicated that he thought it would be a good idea if the US “Iraqed” Iran. Repeat, he was a 12 year old. How many 12 year old minds are running Iran today, after seeing the hash US has made of the region?

The only comment I heard from the Iranian side (an expat who’s been in California for 30 years) that supported the view that US should attack Iran was someone who said US should ally with MEK.

So, supporting Parsi’s view that Tehran wants a war are a 12 year old and a pro-MEK Iranian expat.

I think my rose colored glasses have better focus.

“Philip Giraldi says that Kristol and the other neocon warmonger propagandists have done more damage to the US than the Soviet Union ever did.”

When one considers that Hitler had no desire to war against GB but did wish to eradicate communism from German soil, an ambition that was short-circuited by zionists eager to destroy Germany for the benefit of “worldwide Jewry,” using British & American blood and treasure to do so (is there a pattern here?); THEN we see the MIC — with Israel eagerly participating — uniting around propagandized ‘Red scare’ to wage a Cold War; THEN we see wars on Persian Gulf/Iraq/Afghanistan/Lebanon/Gaza — well duh,”neocon warmonger propagandists have done more damage to the US than the Soviet Union ever did” is understatement. The understatement is so massive that Americans schooled on the unstated manipulations of neocons over the past 100 years cannot possibly wrap their minds around the perfidy.

    But when they do —

Reminded again of a comment Jeremy Ben-Ami made last July to his children’s religious school teacher: “We must tell our children the truth — Palestine was not vacant land,” etc. “If they are not taught the truth, but find it out later, there will be resentment.” :http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/ANewVo at about 50 min.

    a) less focus on Occupy Wall Street
    b) the tin and silicon out of anthrax story
    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/10/science/10anthrax.html?_r=2&hp
    c) scare the hell out of Saudis (and all other officials, whistleblowers)and make them think they can be whacked and the media will gladly divert attention.
    d) a quick check on the pulse of the abject servility of mainstream media

Even the above incomplete list shows the plenty good the latest media assault on Iran has already accomplished.

“So Nuland’s presence is like Dennis Ross’s presence in the same building as Middle East adviser–a man the ADL calls an “advocate” for Israel, who was lately chairman of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute in Jerusalem. Or Stuart Levey’s former role in Obama’s Treasury department in the same position he had under George Bush– and Levey is a man whose college dissertation, written under Martin Peretz, was about the importance of preserving the Zionist dream.”

several weeks ago Phil Weiss wrote that Wikileaks had some interesting insights into Stuart Levey, that Weiss was digesting and would write about in future. waiting patiently, Phil.

back to studying Alison Weir’s excellent overview, :http://original.antiwar.com/alison-weir/2011/10/10/THE-REAL-STORY-OF-HOW-ISRAEL-WAS-CREATED/

This paragraph in Weir’s history is pregnant with importance:

“Approximately 50 years before [1947], a movement called political Zionism had begun in Europe. Its intention was to create a Jewish state in Palestine through pushing out the Christian and Muslim inhabitants who made up over 95 percent of its population and replacing them with Jewish immigrants.”

That 50 year period encompassed two world wars and initiated an era that Gabriel Liulevicius has called “the bloodiest century in human history” (:http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/course_detail.aspx?cid=8313 )and that Yuri Slezkine calls The Jewish Century :http://www.amazon.com/Jewish-Century-Yuri-Slezkine/dp/0691127603 .

That 50 year period is smack in the middle of the era that Rothschild biographer Niall Ferguson titled “Rothschilds: The World’s Banker 1849-1999.” :http://www.amazon.com/House-Rothschild-Worlds-Banker-1849-1999/dp/0140286624/ref=sr_1_13?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318447249&sr=1-13
The era of the Rothschilds, extended as it does through the course of zionism’s inception and period of influence over European, British, and American history, is that much more important in view of an seemingly obvious statement by Leo Pinsker that creating a Jewish state will require a great deal of money:

Doctor Leo Pinsker (1821-1891), one of the foremost physicians of Odessa. His Auto-Emancipation (Berlin, 1882) is now recognized as the forerunner of Herzl’s Judenstaat, which appeared fifteen years later. Pinsker accepts as an axiom what Sokolov had tried {282} to demonstrate as a proposition. Jew-hatred, he claims, like Lombroso in his work on anti-Semitism, is a “platonic hatred,” a hereditary mental disease, which two thousand years’ duration has so aggravated as to render it incurable. As the Jewish problem is international, it can be solved only by nationalism. He admits some of the charges brought against the Jews by anti-Semites, but Jewish failings result from Christian intolerance. In a land of their own they will develop into a Muster-nation, a model people.

‘The wretches—cries he—they mock the eagle that once soared sky-high, and saw divinity itself, because he can no longer fly after his wings are broken! Give us but our independence, allow us to take care of ourselves, grant us but a little strip of land like that of the Servians and Rumanians, give us a chance to lead a national existence, and then prate about our lacking manly virtues. What we lack is not genius (Genialität) but self-consciousness (Selbstgefühl) and appreciation of our value as men (Bewusstsein der Menschenwürde), of which we were deprived by you!’

Of course, it requires many years and a great expenditure of money to establish a nation on a firm basis. But in Pinsker’s dictionary the word “impossible” does not exist. . . .

Pinsker’s impassioned appeal made a deep impression. It was obvious that colonization would be the shortest road to renationalization.” :http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15921/15921-h/15921-h.htm

That 50 year period that Weir mentions so briefly, and that era whose bloodiness Liulevicius ascribes to “industrialization, mass propaganda, and Nazism, communism, fascism, Marxism, and Leninism,” but makes no mention of either zionism or Rothschild; that era that is sheltered behind a wall labelled Holocaust denial, as impenetrable and as obvious as the walls around Palestinian Arabs; that 50 year period must be explored thoroughly, just as thoroughly as an infection must be thoroughly purged before a body can regain its health. (Dr. Ahmadinejad attempted to probe that walled-in era, but his ministrations were resisted by the patients.)

  35. James Canning says:

    Voice of Tehran,

Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV, by Ben Shapiro. Broadside Books, part of HarperCollins, NY, NY, 2011.

Shapiro’s thesis is astonishing chutzpah: he documents how “the Left,” identified as mostly Jewish studio heads, writers, producers, and the like, turned US culture into a moral swamp, and urges “the Right” to adopt the same methods of the Hollywood Left, that is, to shape the narrative, tell a story, disregard rationality, fact, evidence, reason in favor of a compelling narrative (which fits the definition of hasbara) or else the Right will forever lose the cultural battle.

Primetime Propaganda provides one example after another of how Hollywood has produced TV sitcoms, serials, specials, docudramas that undercut all of the virtues that “traditional” Christian/American moral values used to uphold.

This is insidious; Shapiro is laughing at the Right AND at the Left. When you parse the speeches of GOP candidates as they blast away at the Left’s support for, ie. abortion rights, gay marriage, sexual activity outside of marriage etc., and simultaneously pledge undying support for Israel, you have to scratch your head and wonder if these candidates have a clue that they are being played for patsies, that they are supporting the sources of that which they claim to abhor.

  64. Humanist says:

This new allegation of Iran plotting to assassinate Saudi embassador on US soil is not the first moronic (in a way comic) fabrication to demonize Iran. On January 2008 US made a serious allegation about Iranian speedboats harassing and threatening US naval vessels in the Persian Gulf.

Watch this video that was shown repeatedly on US MSM where Iranians are threatening ‘I am coming to you’ or .’you’ll explode in 2 minutes’.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzyeMvhKp2U

Stupid US propagandists then couldn’t envision Iranians might make their own video on that incident. When the Iranian video (as seen below) was shown on couple of US outlets the whole story quickly fizzled out.

In the above video the Iranian sailor is talking in Farsi about the GPS coordinates that shows US vessels were inside the Iranian territorial waters.

That must have been a truly embarrassing stuff for US especially when one can see how Bush is lying about it.

Now is this new allegation another comedy/tragedy being played with similar sinister intention?…only in a different masquerade? Preparing the sheeple for another war?

US can escalate or let it simmer.

It will not change the strategic situation.

Israelis escalated to nowhere in 2006. Got nothing.

US-EU Axis took Iran to UNSC – the strategic escalation to nowhere – got them nothing.

Iran is digesting Iraq; this is the sum-total of the strategic situation prevailing in the Persian Gulf.

In the Levant, US-EU Axis have been routed; they maintain a fortress called Israel with no discernible benefit.

In North Africa, each country’s situation must be individually evaluated; Algerian Revolution will be the key there. Expect enormous public anger at EU after the triumph of the revolution there.

In 2007, Ahmadinejad released 15 British sailors and Marine for illegally entering Iranian waters. Result; London geared-up its cooperation with the US and Israel to destablize Iran and bring regime-change in Tehran.

This month Ahmadinejad got three American Jewish spies released on bail. Result; Obama added two more Iranian to the already 60 Iranian kept in custody for years on trumped-up charges.

Propaganda, by Edward Bernays, copyright 1928; reprinted 2005, Ig Publishing, Brooklyn, NY (with intro. by Mark Crispin Miller).

    INTRODUCTION I.

“[T]he word propaganda had been coined in 1622, when Pope Gregory XV, frightened by the global spread of Protestantism, urgently proposed an addition to the Roman curia. The Office for the Propagation of the Faith (Congregatio de propaganda fide) would supervise the Church’s missionary efforts in the New World and elsewhere . . . Far from denoting lies, half-truths, selective history or any of the other tricks that we associate with ‘propaganda’ now, that word meant, at first, the total opposite of such deceptions.

” ‘ Especially it is to be desired that, inspired by divine grace, [the people of God] should cease to wander amidst heresies through the unhappy pastures of infidelity, drinking deadly and poisonous water, but be placed in the pasture of the true faith, that they may be gathered together in saving doctrine, and be led to the springs of the waters of life.’ ” pp. 9-10

    . . .

    CHAPTER 1 Organizing Chaos

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.

“We are governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is arranged. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society.

“Our invisible governors are, in many cases, unaware of the identity of their fellow members in the inner cabinet.

“They govern us by their qualities of natural leadership, their ability to supply needed ideas and by their key position in the social structure. Whatever attitude one shooses toward this condition, it remains a fact that in almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons — a trifling fraction . . .– who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind, who harness old social forces and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world.” pp 37-38.

    ____

comment: Both uses of the word propaganda indicate the acts of a Few controlling the thinking of the Masses.

Miller traces the history of the use of propaganda — comparatively benign and religiously oriented toward the preservation of integrity of Christian, predominantly Catholic beliefs, from the time of Gregory XV until World War I, when propaganda was turned into a weapon to generate hate among the masses in order to induce the masses to approve their democratic government’s plan to wage war.

In 1917, Woodrow Wilson formed the Creel Commission “to influence U.S. public opinion regarding American participation in World War I. Over just 28 months, from April 13, 1917, to August 21, 1919, it used every medium available to create enthusiasm for the war effort and enlist public support against foreign attempts to undercut America’s war aims.” (Wikipedia, Creel Commission).

Hollywood film studios played a role in the first world war propaganda effort.

By the 1930s, Warner Brothers and other Hollywood studios as well as cartoonists and comic book publishers were fully invested in the identical project, creating enthusiasm for another war effort by depicting the target of the war as evil and hateful. In this effort, private, for-profit organizations functioned in service to various interest groups as well as to the United States government itself. (http learcenter dot org/pdf/WWBlakley dot pdf)

Movies and television have become the new religion–the means of controlling the masses– and the flat panel TV screen the new altar of worship. Roman Catholic and Christian (and also Islamic) efforts toward the preservation of the “true faith” and warnings against imbibing “poisonous waters” have been debased and replaced by media that urges the masses to hate their fellow man and seek ways to harm him.

But think about it for a minute. Iraq “has requested” 5,000 US soldiers remain (not counting the other thousands of Embassy staff, contractors, etc) and the only issue now is whether they have total legal immunity (shades of the Boxer Rebellion).

And Iraq has just ordered and made down payments of billions of dollars for high tech weapons… an unending teat to suck. So, that’s done!

Why not blame Afghanistan and Palestine on Iranian interference and go for Iran? It’s all a question of adequate missile defense for Israel.

Why not now? Not regime change, not now, just a lesson in humility for those proud Persians.

It will drown out the Occupy Wall Street noise, too. In the light of international tensions and sacrificial obligations, those people will seem small and plain ol’ anti-Amerikun.

Let Israel start it, let the US wipe up, and Bob’s your uncle!

  76. Reza Esfandiari says:

I love how the U.S media has already accepted that the “plot” must be completely true and that Iran must be held to account. No questions are being asked such as what Iran’s motive possibly could be. The Government said it, I believe it, that settles it.

If one is cynical, one cannot but help but think how this story will serve to distract from the anti-capitalist protests sweeping America and which the corporate media has been reluctant to cover.

  77. Castellio says:

Yes, it is a tough choice for POTUS. And as we learned (again) during the 00′s, wars are not a sure thing and carry with them risks. The course and outcomes of war are difficult to predict. If we ordinary Americans are forced to pay for $6 a gallon gas (or more) as a result of a war with Iran, many of us will show our unhappiness with the vote in 2012.

However, Tehran should not worry about such allegations as it’s not about to loose a friendly regime. Saudi ‘royals’ have always been western ‘enforcers’ in the Muslim East and they will remain that way until they’re thrown out by their subject as the Iranian did to King Reza Shah.

    Sunday 4th January 2009

One of the things that is not being discussed much in the media is how much talk there is in Israel about attacking Iran. Word on the (Israeli) street is that an air attack on Iran’s nuclear reactors is imminent.

Israel has been itching for a ‘good war’ for a while now. The botched attack on Lebanon in 2006 was a psychological disappointment that did not fulfil its purpose, and only led to a deepening chasm between the political and military arms in Israel. An Israeli friend told me in disgust the other day, that there is an atmosphere of ‘national orgasm’ in Israel about the prospect of attacking Iran. While people are being bombed in Gaza, all Israelis can talk about is the coming attack on Iran. But there is a link between the two. . . .

The more details that come out, the more I think it couldn’t even by an MEK operation. (The money trail might provide insights into whether an organization was involved.)

The statements made by the suspect being offered publicly sound outlandish, and some appear to be acquired by suggestion.

Regardless, there remains a Zimmermann telegram like effect.

After the Tehran Declaration was shot down in 2010, I stated the odds were favorable toward a U.S. initiated war on Iran within the next four years. I still hope it doesn’t happen, but being from a U.S. military family (on my mother’s side), with numerous combat veterans of American foreign wars, we can surely recognize the onset of war fever.

  93. I agree, this is just another attempt to ratchet up the war fever.

Suckers still don’t understand that the US wants war with Iran, Pakistan, and anyone else they can start one with (except people with serious numbers of nukes that can reach the US like Russia and China – and the US wouldn’t mind a regional conflict with them as long as it didn’t go nuclear.)

  94. hans says:

President Barack Obama was first briefed on the plot in June, said White House spokesman Tommy Vietor.

He was “first briefed on the plot in June” means what? Exactly how was Obama briefed? Of the initiation of the plot? The set up? What?

Plot in June. Arrests in September. New release in mid October. Hmmmm suspicious. Iranian actress lashed or going to be lashed. All fits now.

However one word of advise, keep them unelected bigots away from the microphone, they do no good to the image of Iran. Keep religious rhetoric to a minimum, all those bravado nonsense from IRRG commanders. The next few days Oct 15 and 17 are critical days for Iran and the world. I have mentioned this in many previous posts. Iran has in their Foreign Minister an extremely competent person. He is able to hold his own against the so called media savvie US state Department.

  95. Photi says:

    Richard Silverstein:

“Bibi knew that if he attacked Iran, Hamas might never free Shalit. In light of this, Bibi’s explanation that the deal was a “now or never” thing; that if it wasn’t done now the uncertainties and dangers of the Arab Spring might prevent a deal from ever being sealed–all make sense in a perverse way. What he’s saying, if I’m right, is that the aftermath of an Israeli attack on Iran will leave the region so unstable that we might never see Shalit again. And Bibi, and what little moral conscience he has, was troubled by this considering that he’d made numerous promises to free the Israeli soldier during his term in office.

If you read today’s news of our exposure of an alleged Iranian terror plot and the clear exaggeration the Justice Department is offering to explain the conspirators, their goals, and the means they attempted to use to achieve them, I think it reads like the U.S. and Israel preparing the world for an attack on Iran. Before they do, they need to ratchet up pressure, intensify the demonization campaign. They need to make Iran look the part of the villain before they strike.”

    The sunlight brightly gleams.

When every man is torn apart

    With nightmares and with dreams,

Will no one lay the laurel wreath

    As silence drowns the screams.

Between the iron gates of fate,

The seeds of time were sown,

And watered by the deeds of those

    Who know and who are known;

    Knowledge is a deadly friend

When no one sets the rules.

The fate of all mankind I see

Is in the hands of fools.

    Confusion will be my epitaph.

As I crawl a cracked and broken path

If we make it we can all sit back and laugh.

But I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying,

Yes I fear tomorrow I’ll be dying.

For King Crimson, life’s epitaph is summed up in one word – confusion. The predictions are compelling as the imagination is left to wander through scenes of senseless violence, needless hate, and heartless cruelty, behind which lies an unshakeable barrenness of soul amidst the uncertainty of a future anchored in futility.

It’s bad when you can’t even tell a believable lie. Each lie that is foisted off follows the same script — a government agent foiling a plot just in the nick of time. Even if you were dumb enough to believe such nonsense once, you would have to be a complete fool to fall for the same lie over and over again. So where do we go from here — supporting an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear power plants?

    Off Topic…Or is it?

    Ahmadinejad to visit Islamabad.

Pakistan has been silently mediating between Iran and Saudi Arabia for a while and reportedly Zardari has been spearheading the Pakistani efforts. Recently he made important visits to Iran and Saudi Arabia for this purpose.
“The relations between Tehran and Riyadh as well as Islamabad’s efforts as mediator for the improvement in ties between the two important Muslim countries would also be discussed during talks between President Ahmadinejad and the Pakistani leaders,” the source said.

“The idea that they would attempt to go to a Mexican drug cartel to solicit murder-for-hire to kill the Saudi ambassador, nobody could make that up, right?” Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said

    Dear Hillary,

I understand that you and Flynt are a former members of the NSC, and likely want to keep some kind of cordial relationship with the current members, but still, I think you should have called this one out as it is: A complete fabrication. And a stupid one at that.

The plot dates to early spring, when a cousin of Arbabsiar’s, who he thought was a senior member of the Quds Force, approached him while he was in Iran about a plan to kidnap Jubeir, according to court documents.

Arbabsiar allegedly told the cousin, identified only as Iranian Official No. 1, that he did business on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border and knew a number of drug traffickers. The Iranian official told Arbabsiar that he should hire a trafficker to carry out the plot “because people in that business are willing to undertake criminal activity in exchange for money,” according to the criminal complaint.

That’s right, when Iran’s feared intelligence services want someone taken care of, the first thing they do is spread the word around to see if anyone’s cousin knows a guy who knows a guy who might be interested in Assassinating a Saudi Ambassador. It’s basically procedure you use when you want to get rid of a couch your cat peed on too many times. Remember these are the same ‘Elite Unit’ supposedly responsible for two thousand and something American soldiers coming home in boxes.

But what makes it all believable for me, is that the Saudis, and all other US backed Arab dictators, have shown themselves to be so unshakable in the past year, that going all the way to the US is Iran’s best bet of being able to touch any of them. I mean it’s not like there are any easy to exploit opportunities to destabilize these regimes just begging for Iran to be taken advantage of right in it’s very own Persian Gulf. Iran’s simply got no choice but try and carry out operations on a continent where it has absolutely no operational infrastructure in place.

The proof that Washington DC is now Israeli Occupied Territory is that the quality of the official propaganda is now beneath North Korean levels of believability.
